Why do teen girls like to listen to music that is full of misogynistic lyrics?

Author: admin  //  Category: music lyrics

Most girls in my school love to listen to music with lyrics such as "smack dat b*tch" and "ho suck my ****!"

Why would they listen to such disgusting music?

Good question for teens in general.

I think you are generalizing, big time. I’m a teen girl and I don’t listen to any of that.

Fear not… All of the Pink, Lady Ga Ga, and Beyonce lyrics are pretty misandric so it evens out.

Modern pop culture is killing society.

There’s nothing you can do but sit back & watch it burn.

I wouldn’t worry, though. Things need to burn through their cycle and the next phase of societal growth will be to back away from all of the ridiculousness of our current situation.

    It’s the whole "pendulum effect."

"It’s the rhythm, mom…not the lyrics" at least that’s what mine say.

It’s musical junk food. They listen for the same reason others overeat: they have a taste for crap.

I agree with whoever said it’s ruining society.

I listen to music that is performed by talented people, so if it has lyrics like smack my bitch up etc then it really doesn’t bother me.

why are you holding women responsible for it?

its their freedom of choice…they can listen to whatever they want.

but men must make good choices and not watch porn, rap videos and strippers. men are always responsible. blame men for everything.

Maybe it’s the underlying content beneath the profanity–maybe it’s even the music video they like to remember when playing the song again.
I listened to prodigy almost all my life and one of their songs was "Smack my B^tch up". Kick-a$s song, and I’ve always thought it’s simply a messed-up phrase you’d say when you want to rev yourself up for a night of hardcore raving, sex, bar fights and kebabs. The music video is even freaking awesome! It’s not misogynistic or anti-women, but total complete primeval hedonism. It answers to the little call of the wild in all of us and helps us unwind, even feel a little more confident in a sense of feeling able to stomp the ground like you own it.
With the life of a teen, hell, they’d need something like that.
